October is the month sports fans circle all year. Playoff baseball decides its champion, football season hits full stride, and the fall flavors show up right on schedule. Planet Popcorn is in the middle of all of it — in the stands, at the ballpark, and at your door.
We have been popping for over 25 years, and today we serve more than 20 stadiums, festivals, and events nationwide across the MLB, NHL, NFL, NASCAR, and NCAA. So this October, whether you are in the seats or on the couch, we have got your crunch.
October Is the Best Sports Month of the Year
There is no other month quite like it. Fall football owns the weekends, baseball hands out its biggest moments every single night, and the weather finally cooperates. Tailgates, watch parties, and living room gatherings are all back in rotation.
Here is what is happening this month — and where to find us.
Playoff Baseball at Dodger Stadium
October baseball is back in Los Angeles. The Dodgers open the National League Division Series at home, and Dodger Stadium is the best ticket in town.
- Saturday, October 3 — NLDS Game 1 at Dodger Stadium, 1 p.m. PT
- Sunday, October 4 — NLDS Game 2 at Dodger Stadium, 5 p.m. PT
- Friday, October 9 — NLDS Game 5 at Dodger Stadium (if necessary)
They will meet the winner of the Phillies–Braves Wild Card Series.
Look for Planet Popcorn when you are at the ballpark. We have been popping at Dodger Stadium for years — this season we supplied fresh butter and caramel kettle popcorn for 800 employees on Opening Day. It is the same fresh popcorn we make for you online, served in the middle of playoff atmosphere.
Catch Us at Levi's Stadium
The 49ers are home at Levi's Stadium twice in October, and Planet Popcorn will be there popping fresh for the red and gold.
- Sunday, October 4 — Denver Broncos at San Francisco 49ers, 1:25 p.m. PT
- Monday, October 19 — Washington Commanders at San Francisco 49ers, 5:15 p.m. PT (Monday Night Football)
Find our stand at Section 127. Grab a bag on the way to your seat, or stock up before the fourth quarter.
Between the two, October 4 is a doubleheader kind of day: football in the afternoon, playoff baseball at night.
Make Game Day Better at Home
Not everyone makes it to the stadium, and that is fine — we ship the same fresh popcorn straight to your door.
For a watch party, the Build Your Own 2 Gallon Tin is the move. Pick your flavors, set it out, and let the room take care of the rest. Smaller crowd? The Build Your Own 1 Gallon Tin holds 13 cups and lets you choose up to three flavors.
Setting up a popcorn bar? Line up a few Little Dippers in different flavors and let everyone build their own mix. A sweet, a savory, and one wildcard — that is the whole strategy.
And when the postseason runs into late October: Game 1 of the World Series is Friday, October 23. If the series goes the distance, Game 7 lands on Halloween night, Saturday, October 31.
Fall Flavors Made for Cooler Nights
Some flavors just belong to October:
- Caramel Apple — a sweet and tart twist that tastes like the orchard in every bite.
- Spicy Cheddar Caramel — the perfect balance of heat and sweet, bold enough for game day.
- Kettle Corn — a game-day essential that never goes out of style.
- Cheddar Caramel Mix — settles the sweet-versus-savory debate before it starts.
Pair them with apple cider, a pumpkin ale, or your favorite fall drink, and you have got the perfect snack setup. See all signature flavors.
The Rest of October
Beyond the big games, October is full of smaller occasions worth celebrating: tailgates, pumpkin patches, movie nights, and the first genuinely cozy evenings of the season. A tin of fresh popcorn covers all of them.
